For a customer, we are looking for a
IT SYSTEMS SPECIALIST (M/W)
Responsabilites:
Manage Linux Servers in an enterprise environment.
Administration of Linux-Based server operating system.
Configure new physical and virtual servers while documenting the implementation.
Administer the company’s Windows 2003/2008/2012 Systems and Active Directory Infrastructure.
Administer the company’s virtual environment based on VMWare technology.
Operational Management of datacenter infrastructure including SAN, Servers, Virtualization and other Infrastructure related systems.
Operationnal management of the disaster recovery infrastructure (SRM, RecoverPoint).
Responding to problem tickets for issues reported by clients and provides customer second and third level IT Infrastructure support via telephone, e-mail, and other tools.
Writing formal postmortems for production problems and providing feedback to architecture and development teams.
Follow standard operating procedures while maintaining validated servers.
Assist with the installation of off-the-shelf applications and document the installation procedures.
Oversee the maintenance / monitoring of systems within the environment to ensure optimal performance, to determine system upgrade/replacement schedules, and to meet established Service Level Agreement (SLA) commitments.
Learn to operate system management and monitoring tools to identify and assist in resolving potential security, reliability, and capacity and performance issues.
Participate in evaluation of server hardware and software. Research solutions and formulate recommendations.
Provide timely status updates to IT management.
Administer MS Exchange 2007/2010 & BES (Blackberry Enterprise Service).
Participate to the IT on call service.
Key Skills:
Strong working knowledge of Linux Operating system
Strong working knowledge of VMWare virtualization technology
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2003/2008/2012 operating systems, Active Directory, Exchange and related technologies in a multi-domain environment.
IBM Blade server and System x administration experience strongly desired.
Hands-on experience with IBM and EMC storage environments (SAN,NAS)
General understanding of Networking and Network Security
Solid communication and Project Management skills.
Organizational "Fit" Considerations: The candidate must be flexible to take on different tasks at short notice and have the ability to function in cross-functional team setup that consists of different disciplines.
Understanding of Avaya Telephony architecture
Understanding and experience in working in a multinational environment
Ability to take ownership of an issue, problem, or project and see it through to completion.
Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills in English are needed
Education/Experience:
A University degree (ETS/HES, Bachelor) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications or equivalent experience
Technical certifications such as MCSE, MCITP, Linux, VMware, EMC, IBM would be a strong plus
